Climate Change in the Great Lakes Region
Adapting Conservation Efforts for a Sustainable Future
Our vision of “climate smart” conservation considers the benefits to people that result from our actions to protect and restore nature.
Climate change poses new challenges to decision-makers as they work to restore and maintain biodiversity, create comprehensive policies and protect the natural systems that people depend on. The Conservancy’s Great Lakes Project has developed a regional climate strategy to address the impacts of changing temperature and precipitation patterns on our freshwater, coastal, forest and agricultural resources.
