Message from Maryland/DC Executive Director Tim Purinton
I want to thank all of our supporters for a terrific 2017. I want to also say that I’m really excited about 2018.
In 2017 we saw the completion of the Pocomoke River restoration, the largest river restoration of its type in Maryland’s history, restoring nine miles of floodplain to the Pocomoke River, which flows directly into the Chesapeake Bay.
We also just completed a very large urban stormwater effort at Mount Olivet Cemetery in the District of Columbia. That project will treat over 3 million gallons of stormwater which flows into the Anacostia River - also part of the Chesapeake Bay. So great work completed in 2017! In 2018 I'm really excited about our climate resilience and clean water work. Everything from healthy forests out in western Maryland to the work that we’re continuing to do on the Eastern Shore.
Thank you very much, and to you, a terrific 2018!
There’s so much great work ahead of us and we could not do it without your support. Will you help us continue our efforts for clean water and climate resilience in Maryland and Washington, DC?
