David Schnake is the Natural Climate Solutions Forester for The Nature Conservancy’s NatureVest Team. His work focuses on developing forest management plans, forest carbon projects, conservation easement sales, and other tools and methods to enhance forest carbon sequestration, forest restoration, and long-term forest protection. David Joined TNC in 2021 after over a decade of managing the State of North Carolina’s system of Research Station forests. He has also been an instructor of forest biometrics, silviculture, and forest management and planning at North Carolina State University. David holds a B.S. in Forestry from Colorado State University, a M.S. in Forestry from Mississippi State University, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University.
