The Nature Conservancy Names Kevin Badik as New Director of Science for Nevada and Utah

Since joining the organization in 2015 as a rangeland ecologist, Badik has helped use science and mapping tools to guide conservation decisions, supported large-scale planning efforts across ecosystems and watersheds, and advanced habitat restoration through native seed and plant materials programs. His work has helped inform conservation strategies across Nevada, Utah and neighboring states.
As Director of Science, Badik will focus on strengthening collaboration among scientists, conservation practitioners, land managers, Tribal communities, and other partners to address some of the region's most pressing conservation challenges.
“Conservation is a team effort, and the accomplishments I’m most proud of are the ones we’ve achieved alongside our partners, colleagues and communities,” said Badik. “I look forward to building on TNC’s good work and continuing to be a trusted partner that helps bring the best available science into conservation decisions across the West.”
