Overview

Event Overview

Coastal plain marshes are rare in the Great Lakes region; they are typically found only along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Out of all 42 coastal plain marshes in Michigan, this preserve boasts three of the highest quality. Explore the landscape and learn about the rare ecosystem, our forest restoration work and future restoration plans. Please note that registration will be required for this event.

The 3.75 miles is considered moderate to difficult and will include some hilly and steep terrain. Please keep this in mind as you register. If you’d be interested in a shorter hike, please email mievents@tnc.org and let us know. Depending on interest we may be able to offer an additional route. Because of wet and uneven ground conditions during much of the year, we recommend wearing waterproof boots with ankle support.
