Fishing is a central part of life in the Pacific. For reef fisheries, we are working alongside communities to reform policy and management.
We work closely with community members using the best available science and planning tools to enhance understanding of natural resources and facilitate effective management from “ridges to reefs.”
Mining, oil and gas extraction, and large-scale plantation agriculture have provided economic opportunities in the Pacific, but they are also growing threats to biodiversity, natural systems and traditional cultures.
We are helping communities identify critical areas for conservation and employing nature-based solutions to enhance their resilience, adapt to the impacts of climate change and reduce disaster risk.
