Gaze in wonder beneath the sky islands of West Texas that seemingly emerge from an ocean of sand and clouds. This incredible landscape harbors ecosystems that are at risk of disappearing. After a scenic drive to Marfa—an eclectic town filled with art and history— we’ll explore TNC’s Davis Mountains Preserve, which rises more than 8,300 feet above sea level out of the vast Chihuahuan Desert. Our journey also leads to Big Bend National Park, where the Rio Grande nourishes an arid region teeming with life throughout the year. Join this trip of a lifetime where you’ll explore by foot and horseback the awe-inspiring natural landscape of West Texas.
