Brownsville Preserve Volunteer Stewards
Nassawadox, VA
The Nature Conservancy's Volgenau Virginia Coast Reserve Program plans volunteer stewardship workdays on a regular basis throughout the year to complete projects such as trail maintenance, cutting and hauling limbs, building and repairing boardwalks and docks, cutting brush and overgrown vegetation, and other similar projects.
We are in need of volunteers on the following dates from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Thursday, February 29
- Friday, March 1
- Tuesday, March 12
- Wednesday, March 13
If any of the workdays above get canceled, the rescheduled date will be Thursday, March 14 or Friday, March 15.
- Wednesday, April 3
- Thursday, April 4
If any of the workdays above get canceled, the rescheduled date will be Friday, April 5.
- Wednesday, April 10—Volunteers will be setting up in preparation for Brownsville's Open Farm Day
The rescheduled date if the Open Farm Day prep workday gets canceled will be Thursday, April 11.
Project details will be sent out about a week before each workday. Tools and equipment will be provided.

At this time, our staff only has capacity to lead weekday workdays, but we hope to have weekend opportunities in the future.
