Volunteer Overview

Join TNC staff at a series of seed cleaning workdays at Kankakee Sands!

We’ve been busy collecting seeds from spring through summer, and we have a good number of seed batches that need to be sifted and sorted in preparation for planting this fall.

Your help is needed to get this batch of seeds cleaned and ready for future plantings. We will be working in the new shade pavilion at the Kankakee Sands Nursery with small batches of seed in plastic containers. We will be working outdoors, but the pavilion has shade and seating.

Gloves and snacks will be provided.

Seed Cleaning Workdays

  • Saturday, September 27
  • Saturday, October 11

Both workdays will be from 10 am to 12 noon (Central Time).
