Registration is required. See below for details.

Here are the activities planned for spring 2026:

Vernal pool invertebrate viewing—at your own pace

March 28, arrive between 9:00-10:00 a.m.

On March 28, guests can walk at their own pace along the banks of several vernal pools. We will see fairy shrimp and tadpole shrimp that have been carefully netted by experts and a diverse array of wildflowers. Total distance is about 1 mile through uneven, potentially muddy grasslands. As a self-paced event, guests may arrive between 9-10 a.m. and depart when ready.

Bioblitz and iNaturalist instruction—guided walk

April 25 at 9:00 a.m.

On April 25, we will have a guided group walk and bioblitz that focuses on the western part of the preserve. This will be a fun event for anyone who wants to learn to identify living organisms with iNaturalist and up their photography game. Total distance will be 3-4 miles through uneven, potentially muddy grasslands. We will finish the walk by 12:30 p.m.
