Overview
Join The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Indiana Karst Conservancy (IKC) on Saturday, October 25, at Henderson Park in Washington County for a free and family-friendly hike around one of south-central Indiana’s most beautiful natural areas as you learn from experts in the fields of bat conservation and geology!
We'll meet at Henderson Park at 10 am. Then we'll go on guided group walks of the 2.6-mile trail, led by IKC’s Matt Selig and Goni Iskali and TNC’s Mike Everidge and Ryan Goetz.
During the hike, we'll stop by a cave to hear from IKC experts about karst cave formations.
There will be an optional free post-event caving experience led by IKC!
- The terrain and trail are moderate, with gravel and packed dirt sections. There is elevation change and the length of the full train is about 2.5 miles.
- Caves are known to be slippery, and IKC leaders will offer guidance on how to experience them safely.
- Youth are welcome to attend with their parents.
- Wear weather-appropriate layers.
