Nature is the fantastic factory that makes the building blocks of all our lives—food, drinking water, the stuff we own, and the air we breathe. That’s why The Nature Conservancy and its 550 scientists have created Nature Lab: to help students learn the science behind how nature works for us and how we can help keep it running strong.
New Virtual Field Trip: Protecting Our Oceans and Ourselves
We partnered with the Bezos Family Foundation for the 2022 Students Rebuild Challenge. We created a brand new virtual field trip and teaching guide all about our world's oceans and how climate change is impacting coastal communities.
Climate Heroes: The Power of Trees
Trees are our climate superheroes! From Louisville, Kentucky in the United States to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean, trees are playing critical roles in cleaning our air and improving our resilience in the face of climate change, while improving humans’ wellbeing along the way. Learn why trees are our climate heroes, how we can harness their superpowers, and how to protect them! Made possible with support from Carrier.
You’re the scientist! Citizen Science, Frogs and Cicadas
The conservation community relies heavily on volunteers to not only restore natural areas, but to help gauge the success of restoration efforts. Volunteers team up with experienced stewards and scientists to monitor the recovery of native habitats, or to record data on rare species of wildflowers, butterflies and other wildlife. But can students get involved? In fact, they can! Learn all about citizen science!
