Clean fresh water is an essential part of our lives – we rely on fresh water to do everything from staying hydrated to cooking our meals to cleaning our homes. But our supplies of fresh water are shrinking. Studies on water use and population growth trends show that the United States will face serious water shortages if we don’t act to protect our resources.
Did you know?
- More than half of the U.S. water supply is stored and filtered by forests and trees
- Nearly 36 million people rely on the Colorado River for water, food, recreation and energy
A Partnership to Protect Fresh Water
The Nature Conservancy and Asarasi Sparkling Tree Water are partnering to protect these dwindling fresh water resources. Asarasi will contribute $100,000 over the next two years (April 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023) to support TNC’s reforestation work through the Plant A Billion Trees campaign and protection of the Colorado River Basin.
Asarasi Sparkling Tree Water is harmlessly harvested from a sustainable and renewable source for pure water–the Maple tree. Maple sap is 97% pure, plant-based water. When the tree sap is collected, the sugar is completely removed and Asarasi harvests pristine, tree-filtered water. Sourcing this tree-drawn water helps preserve scarce groundwater reserves while supporting family farms and making the connection between forests and fresh water even clearer to consumers.
