Biography
Dr Nisha Priya Mani is a nature enthusiast with over 15 years of experience in the field of natural resource management. In her current role as Project Manager – Cities, Nisha manages a wetland restoration project in Chennai that focuses on demonstrating scientific and nature-based approaches for sustainable outcomes. She coordinates the project in active collaboration with project partners and various stakeholders including the local municipalities, community members, academia and other NGOs.
In the past, she has worked as a Consultant - Natural Resource Management for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on policies related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. She was involved in the preparation of India’s historical document on, ‘Nationally Determined Contributions’ on climate change in the run up to the Paris Climate Change Conference, 2015. She also has a vast experience conducting environmental impact assessments and developing environmental management plans for various industries for prevention and control of pollution.
Nisha has a Postgraduate degree (Environmental Science) and Doctorate (Effluent treatment using green chemistry) both obtained from Anna University, Chennai, India.
Nisha started working for TNC in 2017 and is based in Chennai.
