Twin Accolades for TNC’s Work in the Dominican Republic
Last November, TNC in the Dominican Republic was recognized by two partners for its work collaborating and contributing to conservation.
Coca Cola
As the Coca-Cola Company celebrated its 80th anniversary in the Dominican Republic on November 20, 2025, it recognized key partners who have supported its operations, including The Nature Conservancy (TNC). Coca-Cola, which has operated in the DR since 1945, supports local businesses and conservation efforts from its regional headquarters in Santo Domingo.
Paz Cereijo, general manager of Coca-Cola in the Dominican Republic, and Alejandro Herrera, director general of Bepensa Dominicana, the local bottling company, presented TNC’s award to Carlos Garcia, TNC's Dominican Republic program director.
Carlos shared that “Coca-Cola has been an excellent partner with TNC in the Dominican Republic working for more than a decade on the Water for the Future project to ensure volumetric benefits that boost the sustainability of their operations in the country.”
Santo Domingo Water Fund
The Santo Domingo Water Fund (FASD) in the Dominican Republic also recognized The Nature Conservancy as a key contributor to its growth and sustainability. Co-founded by TNC and the Coca-Cola Company, the water fund focuses on protecting watersheds using nature-based infrastructure. TNC is both a founding member and board member of the Santo Domingo Water Fund.
The recognition came during the Water Fund’s 10th anniversary celebration event on November 17, 2025, under the theme, “A decade of commitment to water security and watershed conservation in the Dominican Republic.”
Dominican Republic Program Director Garcia received the award, which was presented in appreciation of TNC’s sustained and comprehensive support to the Fund, including institutional development and strengthening of implementation.
During the event, TNC Central Caribbean Program Director Francisco Núñez shared the evolution of FASD’s work over the last decade in a “Sowing the Seeds of the Future” presentation.
