The Nature Conservancy and the Permaculture Institute announce a scholarship fund for 2020 Saint Louis Permaculture Design Course
The groups are seeking to increase access to the transformative practice of permaculture design.
Saint Louis, MO
The Nature Conservancy in Missouri and the Permaculture Institute Inc are excited to announce a scholarship fund for the 2020 Saint Louis Permaculture Design Course, which will take place one weekend a month from February through July.
“In recognition of the environmental and social challenges facing our communities, and the need to cultivate more regenerative land and community caretakers to address those challenges, we are seeking to increase access to the transformative practice of permaculture design.” said Jason Gerhardt, Director of the Permaculture Institute Inc.
Permaculture is an ecological design practice that is used all over the world. It is nested in the understanding that everyone is practicing design all of the time, with immense potential to create the world we want live in by designing more consciously. Permaculture offers understandings, methodologies, frameworks, and practices to increase public design literacy for planetary care.
Through this fund, scholarships that cover partial and full tuition are available to those who live in or work with communities disproportionately affected by environmental injustices in and around the St. Louis region. Full tuition scholarships will be awarded to those who register in a cohort of two or more people working on a common project, while partial scholarships will be awarded to individuals.
