Volunteer Overview

Willow Creek's native grasslands, ash woodlands and perennial streams provide the best remaining example of native wet prairie habitats in the southern Willamette Valley.

Volunteers will help plant seeds to restore and enhance critical habitat for Fender’s blue butterfly. During the event, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about the endangered Fender’s blue and TNC’s efforts to conserve the species at Willow Creek and elsewhere. Seeds will be broadcasted by hand. This project will include walking up to a mile and a half along burn plots.

This project is open to those 5 and older. Those 12 and under must be with a parent and all under 18 must have parent/guardian permission.

To register for this event, please email orvolunteers@tnc.org. We only have 15 spots available for this trip, so space is limited.
