Volunteer Overview

Celebrate Earth Day by Caring for Pennsylvania’s Lands and Waters

Join The Nature Conservancy this April for our Annual Independent Earth Day Trash Clean‑Up across Pennsylvania. Whether you head out solo or gather friends and family, your efforts help protect the forests, rivers, parks and neighborhoods that make Pennsylvania special.

This flexible, self‑guided volunteer opportunity lets you choose the time, place and pace of your clean‑up. Every bag of trash collected supports healthier habitats for wildlife and cleaner outdoor spaces for communities.

How to Participate

  • Choose a location in your neighborhood, local trail, park or favorite outdoor spot.
  • Bring gloves, trash bags and any supplies you prefer.
  • Collect litter any time between April 1 - April 30, 2026.
  • Log your results using our online form so we can track Pennsylvania’s collective Earth Day impact.

Why Your Participation Matters:

Litter harms wildlife, pollutes waterways and disrupts natural ecosystems. Independent clean‑ups allow volunteers across Pennsylvania to make a meaningful difference—one trail, streambank or neighborhood at a time.
