Volunteer Overview

The Nature Conservancy in Oregon is leading a public bioblitz as part of the 2026 City Nature Challenge taking place on Saturday, April 25th.

Volunteers will utilize the user-friendly iNaturalist app to photograph and identify the flora and fauna we encounter to collect valuable urban biodiversity data while having a chance to visit a special nature preserve, the Sandy River Gorge Preserve.

While this event is free, registration is required, and space is limited to a maximum of 20 attendees.

Additional information:

Parental or guardian permission is required for all minors, who must be accompanied by an adult.
No dogs are allowed on our preserves (except service dogs).
There will be no restroom available on site; we recommend using the facilities before arriving.
