Volunteer Overview

The Nature Conservancy in Oregon is leading a public bioblitz as part of the 2026 City Nature Challenge taking place on Saturday, April 25th.

Volunteers will utilize the user-friendly iNaturalist app to photograph and identify the flora and fauna we encounter to collect valuable urban biodiversity data while having a chance to visit a special nature preserve, the Sandy River Gorge Preserve.

While this event is free, registration is required, and space is limited to a maximum of 20 attendees.

Additional information:

  • Parental or guardian permission is required for all minors, who must be accompanied by an adult.
  • No dogs are allowed on our preserves (except service dogs).
  • There will be no restroom available on site; we recommend using the facilities before arriving.
  • If you have any medical conditions, health concerns or questions, please contact orvolunteers@tnc.org.
