Volunteer with The Nature Conservancy

Mt. Tabor Fall 2024 Volunteer Event

Oregon

Volunteers work in the middle of a large park filled with trees.
Volunteer Overview

The Nature Conservancy is partnering with Portland Parks & Recreation and Friends of Mt. Tabor for the annual Mt. Tabor volunteer event.

Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. for introductions. Volunteers will work with crew leaders to perform various tasks, such as weeding and trail maintenance, throughout Mt. Tabor Park from 9:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. At approximately 12:30 p.m., volunteers will gather back at the Mt. Tabor Ampitheatre for a catered lunch.

Register Today!

All participants 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All participants under 18 need parent/guardian consent to participate.

We highly recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt and pants with sturdy shoes and long socks, as there is poison oak on the property. Tecnu soap will be provided in case anyone comes into contact with poison oak or stinging insects on site.

  • Bring a reusable water bottle. There are fill-up stations at the park.
  • There are bathrooms near the picnic area and at the summit, but they may not be close to the section of the park you are working in.
