Overview
Have fun and do real science at this extraordinary opportunity at Mashomack and Shelter Island School. Teens will explore the outdoors and practice sampling & identification skills, then learn state of the art DNA techniques in Shelter Island School’s biology lab. This research will contribute to the Citizen DNA Barcode Network database.
No experience is needed, plenty of guidance and support is provided including a Spanish-speaking instructor. For teens grades 9-12.
Transportation from SI ferries is provided. Underrepresented students are strongly encouraged to participate. $700 for the two-week program, full and half scholarships available.
