How to Help

Climate-Strong Communities

Strength Is in Our Nature

Amid the challenges of a warming planet, we can find strength in nature—and in each other.

Watch: How Supporting Nature's Resilience Supports Ours

Strength Is in Our Nature (0:39) Climate change adaptation starts with supporting nature—and each other. Together, we can strengthen our communities and protect them from the worst impacts of climate change.

Today, climate change throws frustrating, life-threatening, non-stop challenges at us. But the situation isn’t hopeless, and we’re not helpless. In fact, when we grow our connections with the people and nature around us, we become more resilient than ever.

Healthy nature is one of our greatest allies against climate change.

  • Protecting reefs and wetlands can keep us safe from flooding.
  • Changing how we manage forests and other habitats can reduce the risk of dangerous wildfires.
  • And taking care of trees and other plants near us can cool our air when we need it most, saving us money, sweat and visits to the hospital.

When we support nature’s resilience, nature supports ours.

Three Ways to Strengthen Nature and Your Community

Do your part to support nature, connect with your community, and make our world stronger and more resilient to climate change.
