Biography
Willie Atu joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in 2001. In his role as program manager for the Solomon Islands, he is responsible for the management of conservation programs, building and maintaining partnerships with communities, government agencies and other institutions, and ensuring the coordination of strategy implementation between these groups and TNC.
Willie has an environmental degree from the University of the South Pacific and has spent 16 years teaching in various schools throughout the Solomon Islands. Prior to joining TNC, he was the headmaster of one of the leading high schools in the Solomon Islands. Willie has been able to parlay this experience into public relations and networking with important local leaders on behalf of our organization.
