Vice President and State Director, Massachusetts
Wayne Klockner is Vice President and State Director for The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts, leading a team of scientists, policy experts, conservationists and fundraisers to address the conservation of land and water in the Bay State. He is responsible for supporting and enhancing TNC’s priority strategies and projects.
During his tenure as State Director, Massachusetts has launched new conservation initiatives in the areas of freshwater, marine and urban conservation, and the program’s first government and agency relations staff were hired to establish leadership in natural resources and climate policy.
With over 36 years of experience at TNC, Wayne worked in Maryland, Delaware, New York, TNC’s Worldwide Office and Indonesia prior to moving to Massachusetts 13 years ago. He is an avid birder and flyfisherman, spending much of his free time outdoors. He holds a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Planning from Rutgers University.
