Meg Whitman served as the U.S. Ambassador to Kenya from 2022 to 2024, where she championed initiatives that advanced biodiversity protection, climate resilience and sustainable economic development. In this role, Meg worked closely with Kenyan leaders and international partners to promote conservation finance strategies, strengthen wildlife corridors and support community-led efforts to safeguard critical ecosystems. Her tenure underscored the importance of linking environmental stewardship with economic opportunity, leaving a lasting impact on conservation policy in the region.
Meg also served as Chief Executive Officer of eBay, Hewlett-Packard and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, guiding these global organizations through periods of rapid growth and strategic innovation. She has been globally recognized for pioneering innovative business models and leveraging technology to create scalable solutions that drive progress and positive change.
Meg, who most recently served on TNC’s Global Board until January 2020, was elected in October 2025 to a new three-year term, continuing her original elected term of service.
