Biography

Margot Wood, PhD is the Biodiversity Credits Program Director in The Nature Conservancy's Chief Conservation Office. She's been with TNC since 2025, and she leads the development of TNC's biodiversity credits program to support robust nature markets that deliver impactful biodiversity outcomes. 

Prior to this role, Margot held multiple roles at Conservation International spanning her 8 years there, including leading teams as the Senior Director of Conservation Science and Partnerships and the Director of Nature Positive Science. Margot is a trained tropical ecologist and applied biodiversity scientist. Throughout her career, she's worked extensively across sectors and geographies to leverage how the private sector can contribute towards biodiversity and nature solutions.
