Marcelo leads all marketing and communications matters for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in the Latin America Region (LAR). He joined the organization in 2013 as director of marketing for the Brazil Program. His contributions to the region include creating and implementing strategic marketing and communications initiatives designed to increase the organization's brand visibility, build reputation, foster collective action with multiple stakeholders and thus advance TNC´s conservation work in Latin America.
Marcelo has more than 25 years of international experience in sales and marketing, branding, communications and business development. Before joining TNC, he was manager of the “MINI Brand Experience” at BMW in Munich and the Latin America Region special sales manager for the BMW Group in São Paulo.
Marcelo has a degree in economics and an MBA in international marketing and business management. In 2019, he attended TNC’s Executive Education Program on Leadership: Leading the Organization at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. In addition to his native Portuguese, he speaks English, Spanish and German fluently.
