Julie leads NatureVest’s Origination team, with responsibility for strategy and overseeing the team’s work in sourcing, structuring, and executing impact investments to achieve a goal of global financial markets that value and integrate natural capital at scale. Julie has dedicated her career to creating new capital markets for next-generation impact investing, combining out-of-the-box thinking and analytical rigor. She has worked on over $400 million in impact investments spanning more than 40 countries.
Prior to joining NatureVest in 2022, Julie served as Investment Lead at Palladium Group. She previously led investments and due diligence as a senior founding team member of a FINRA broker-dealer impact fintech, prototyped a Brazilian venture impact fund, and served as senior advisor and consultant to a wide range of impact investors including Omidyar Network, Convergence, Inter-American Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, Calvert Impact Capital, Women’s World Banking, and others. She worked as a senior consultant at PwC where she executed Fortune 500 investments and large privatizations. Julie was one of the original co-creators of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) metrics as well as other leading impact investing benchmark metrics. She has authored over 25 impact investing publications.
Julie currently serves on investment and impact advisory committees and boards for Apollo, UNOPS, MicroBuild Fund, PLACE, and Black Lab Venture Studio, and previously, Calvert Impact Capital.
Julie holds a BA from Oberlin College, MBA from the Wharton School and MA from the University of Pennsylvania (Lauder Institute Fellow). She is a Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance and a Certified Expert in Risk Management from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
