Joel Paque is the Deputy Director for The Nature Conservancy’s Build Healthy Cities strategy, focused on helping cities utilize green infrastructure to increase their resilience and livability. Joel has over 15 years’ experience working on environmental policy issues, including having previously worked on TNC’s climate policy team, focusing on international climate change negotiations, U.S. funding for international climate mitigation and adaptation programs, and climate finance. Previously, Joel was the Deputy Policy Director at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, where he worked with a diverse coalition of non-profit and private sector partners focused on strengthening support for U.S. foreign assistance programs. He holds a B.A. in history and English from Trinity University and an M.A. in Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University, and lives with his wife and two children in the Washington, D.C. area.
