Biography
Serves as the Midwest Strategy Director for Great Rivers and Floodplains, encompassing the Upper Mississippi River, the Illinois River, the Ohio River, the Wabash River, and portions of the Great Lakes for the Nature Conservancy. He is the Portfolio lead for the Midwest Division’s Great Rivers and Floodplains Program and also serves on the leadership team for The Nature Conservancy's Mississippi River Basin Program. He is responsible for planning, funding, protection, science, stewardship, and community relations related to freshwater conservation with a focus on projects that provide large-scale, tangible, and lasting conservation outcomes, providing resiliency for both the natural systems and the communities that depend on them.
Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, Bryan worked on large river systems for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources where he focused on policy coordination, project development and public outreach. He was the director of the Missouri Soil and Water Conservation Program, served on the Gulf Coast Hypoxia Task Force, the Upper Mississippi River Basin Association, the Lower Mississippi Conservation Committee, as well as representing the state on several large river system feasibility studies.
