Biography
Beatriz Merino provides strategic leadership to The Nature Conservancy’s Europe Public Funding and Partnerships (PFP) team, which develops and manages trusted partnerships with European governments, bilateral and multilateral public funding mechanisms and funds, and development financial institutions. These partnerships are key to mobilise and deliver both public and private funding resources for highly impactful projects and initiatives around the world that help to advance people, nature and climate goals.
Beatriz also oversees and manages high-level relationships with European multilateral development banks and development finance institutions. She works closely across TNC teams and with external stakeholders to originate and support the development of blended finance and innovative financing solutions.
Prior to joining TNC in 2020, she was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, responsible for the bank’s business with governments and multilateral institutions in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, a sovereign analyst at Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings, and an economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Beatriz holds a PhD in Economics from the University Autonoma of Barcelona, Spain.
