Biography

Anna Dirkswager joined The Nature Conservancy in 2018 as the Climate and Energy Director for the Midwest Division. Prior to TNC, Anna served as a Manager at the Great Plains Institute (GPI) where she oversaw the Industrial Energy Efficiency program and co-led programs related to biogenic carbon utilization and carbon capture utilization and storage. 

Prior to GPI, Dirkswager worked at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as the Biomass and Renewable Energy Policy Specialist where she spent seven years leading division and department efforts related to renewable energy policy, forest economic development and clean energy business development.

Dirkswager holds a MS from the University of Minnesota in Natural Resource Science Management and a BA in Environmental Biology from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN.  Dirkswager lives in Andover, Minnesota and enjoys time outside with her kids, gardening and running.
