The Nature Conservancy was born right here in New York with the purchase of Mianus River Gorge Preserve in 1955. Since then, we have conserved more than 815,000 acres across the state. We continue to be a conservation leader and are proud to have been the first state program to establish programs to make our water cleaner, our oceans healthier and our cities thriving.
