Perspectives of the Prairie
2024 Hubbard Fellow Claire Morrical shares stories from Platte River Prairies and Niobrara Valley Preserve
Claire Morrical spent a year supporting Nebraska's lands, waters and wildlife as a 2024 Hubbard Fellow. From the grasslands surrounding the Platte River to the vast Niobrara River Valley and everywhere in between, she spent her time on land management and restoration, research and conservation communications. In the time since her departure, Claire has published a comprehensive look at our work at both the Platte River Prairies and the Niobrara Valley Preserve—and the incredible folks who help make it happen. Follow Claire's journey using this interactive map, where you'll find photos from the field and in-depth interviews with staff, volunteers and partners!

Quote: Claire Morical
"By hearing the voices of these people, and seeing the places they explore, I hope you’ll find something that interests you in the prairie. And the next time you walk outside, I hope you’ll ask yourself, 'what’s my perspective?'"
