Volunteer Overview

Join us at Zumwalt Prairie Preserve from September 12-13! The preserve's 33,000 acres are home to a diversity of nesting raptors, expansive grasslands, large elk herds, and spectacular views of the Wallowa and Seven Devils Mountain ranges.

Volunteers will assist with stewardship projects, which may include fence repair/removal, facility maintenance, and cleaning. Volunteers must be able to work and walk for several hours on uneven prairie terrain and be comfortable bending and kneeling for extended periods of time. We plan to work a full day on Saturday and a half day on Sunday.

Everyone is invited to camp or grab a bunk in the dorm-style bunkhouse on Friday and/or Saturday nights.
