Discover the delicious pawpaw, pick your own fruit to take home and learn how conservation efforts at the Hamer Woodlands at Cove Mountain Preserve help this unique native species thrive.
Enjoy a fun-filled morning of nature, community and pawpaw-themed activities for all ages. Stop by anytime during the event to enjoy food, fun, hands-on activities and opportunities to connect with nature.

🥾 Choose Your Guided Adventure
When you register, you can select one of three guided hikes, each offering a unique way to experience the preserve:
🐴 10:30 a.m. | Pawpaw Pony Express
A relaxed ~0.5 mi round-trip, out-and-back, family-friendly hike along the yellow trail is perfect for young explorers and anyone looking to enjoy a gentle walk through the preserve.
🤠 10:30 a.m. | Pawpaw Roundup Trek
Ready for a bigger adventure? This ~1.5-mi round-trip along the pink-to-orange trail is a more challenging hike designed for experienced hikers and explorers looking to venture farther into the woodlands.
🌱 12:30 p.m. | Pawpaw Promenade
This ~.5mile loop on the green trail is another chance to enjoy an easier nature walk with less elevation while learning about the plants, wildlife and conservation work that make this special place unique.
🎉 Pawpaw Pal (No Guided Hike)
Not hiking? No problem! Join us as a Pawpaw Pal to enjoy self‑guided family fun, pawpaw picking and interactive learning throughout the preserve. TNC and partner organizations will host tables featuring games, wildlife education and more.
