Overview
Join staff for a guided paddling tour of TNC's Emiquon Preserve near Lewistown, Illinois, to celebrate The Nature Conservancy's 75th anniversary! Get up close with the rich diversity of life at Emiquon's restored wetland and have a chance to spot American white pelicans, wood ducks and maybe even a river otter. This event is free and open to all ages. Advance registration is required.
Event Details
- Launch time: Saturday, July 18 at 9 am
- Duration: 2 hours
- Equipment: Bring your personal kayak or canoe.
- UPDATE: All TNC-provided canoes and kayaks have been reserved as of 5/4/26. You may still email and request to be added to the waitlist for either a 2-person vessel or a seat on the 12-person canoe.
How to Register
- Advance registration is required by sending an email to emiquon@tnc.org.
- Provide the following information:
- Your name and contact information
- Number of people attending
- Whether any participants are under 18
- Whether you will bring your own canoe or kayak or are requesting to join the waitlist for one provided by TNC.
- Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the exact meeting location, a map, parking instructions and a list of what to bring.
