Overview

Event Overview

This relaxed outdoor workshop invites participants to slow down and connect with the Andy Warhol Preserve through listening, observation and painting. Inspired by waves, wind and the colors of coastal plants, we’ll explore horizontal lines, varying the pace of our movements, the spacing and thickness of our marks, and colors to experience rhythm through simple gestures.

Following a demonstration of how to make paint with earth pigments, each participant will use prepared paints on a 10 × 8-inch canvas with a light warm sand color, light ocean-blue color or white base color, enjoying slow mark-making and being in the moment. All experience levels are welcome, with all art materials provided and removed afterward, leaving the preserve as we found it.
