Laura Brannen

Laura Brannen is the U.S. climate policy lead for The Nature Conservancy. Based in Arlington, Virginia, she steers The Nature Conservancy’s strategy to advance U.S. federal and state climate and energy policies that put the U.S. on a path to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Laura joined TNC from the energy industry where she worked in public affairs and government relations for two multinational companies. She started her career researching strategic, long-range trends at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a non-partisan foreign policy think tank. In her two decades in Washington, Laura has covered a wide range of climate, energy, water and environmental policy issues, including their intersection with trade and national security, and has engaged in legislative, regulatory, administrative, and voluntary corporate standard-setting processes.
