Biography

Kristina Anguelova is Policy and Partnerships Advisor with The Nature Conservancy, where she serves as a subject matter expert and advisor on complex and strategic issues, including feasibility assessments and transaction readiness to originate and accelerate high-quality nature-based carbon projects in Asia Pacific and beyond. Her work includes a particular focus on Article 6-aligned nature-based projects in countries with Singapore implementation agreements, as well as advancing approaches that integrate sustainable finance into nature and climate solutions.

Kristina’s expertise sits at the intersection of sustainable finance and climate finance policy. Prior to joining TNC, she held several roles at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), including Head of Asia Sustainable Finance. In that capacity, she led a team of technical experts working with financial institutions, regulators and policymakers across the region to strengthen environmental risk integration and advance sustainable finance frameworks, including contributions to the MAS Singapore-Asia Taxonomy.

Her experience spans collaboration with governments, development finance institutions and private sector actors to translate global sustainability standards into practical financial and policy tools. She has worked with more than 200 financial institutions globally to integrate environmental and social risk considerations into financial decision-making and investment strategies.

Kristina holds an MBA and has worked across Asia, Europe and Latin America. Born in Bulgaria and raised in South Africa, she brings a global and cross-cultural perspective to advancing solutions that align economic systems with ecological limits. In addition to her role with TNC, she is part of a technical working group supporting the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD's) transition finance facility, with a focus on capacity building, is an active angel investor in early-stage startups and is the host of a systems-change podcast.
