Biography
Karyl Fritsche works to build strong partnerships that advance regenerative agriculture across the Upper Midwest. Raised on a cash grain farm in north-central Illinois, she brings practical experience and a bachelor’s degree in soil and crop science from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville to her role.
Her career spans hands-on conservation and agricultural innovation—from pioneering tractor research at Case New Holland to supporting producers through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Karyl has collaborated with landowners to tackle complex challenges, including irrigation and rangeland management in Utah and soil health and reduced tillage in Wisconsin.
She also served as a U.S. Embassy Science Fellow, advising agricultural leaders in Lithuania (2022) and Estonia (2023) on national soil health strategies to help meet Green Deal climate goals.
Outside of work, Karyl enjoys spending time with her four children and running several small businesses, including a coffee shop, piano bar, and salon.
