Biography

Jamie Chan is the director of Europe Urban Greening at The Nature Conservancy in Europe. Her team partners with German local governments and organizations to accelerate urban climate adaptation and biodiversity improvement through nature-based solutions. She focuses on community-level strategies that mitigate climate risks and enhance livability and well-being. Recent projects she oversees span from Berlin’s neighborhood climate adaptation plan to Stuttgart’s NbS innovation grants.  

Jamie is an urban planner with a master of architecture from Columbia University, where she also taught urban design. She was a German Chancellor Fellow, sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to research sustainability practices. Prior to joining TNC in 2020, she served as a lead urban designer in the New York City Department of City Planning for more than a decade managing the development of high-quality public realm and public spaces.
