Biography
Induja is originally from India and recently completed her Master’s in Environmental Conservation at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, where she currently resides.
Induja brings a strong foundation in conservation planning, project coordination and data-driven decision support. Since October, she has served as a data manager with TNC’s Great Plains Division and as a Coda Fellow supporting the U.S. Virgin Islands Coral Reef Program. In these roles, she has supported leadership and project teams with data management, reporting, coordination and systems development.
Before joining TNC, Induja contributed to landscape-scale planning and community-based conservation initiatives in India, including sustainability projects aimed at improving water access for Tribal communities. Induja has also volunteered in several environmental education projects as a trainer of trainers and led local climate action initiatives such as cleanup drives in India. She brings grassroots experience of working with various stakeholders, NGOs and communities to drive changes on the ground. She has traveled extensively in different parts of India and brings her spirit to travel and explore new places in the U.S. as well.
In Induja’s words, her approach to conservation is rooted in the connection between people, places and systems—an important perspective for work at the scale and complexity of the Great Plains. As the program coordinator, Induja will support coordination across the Great Plains Grasslands Strategy, helping align efforts across teams, states, divisions, strategies and partners as we advance conservation goals. She will play a key role in strengthening collaboration, tracking progress and supporting implementation across the region.
