Biography
Galbadrakh (Gala) Davaa is the Country Director for The Nature Conservancy in Mongolia. Before joining TNC, Gala worked in various areas of conservation in Mongolia, including establishment of Mongolia’s new protected areas network, developing and implementing community based approaches to protected areas management, strengthening EIA policies and practices, environmental education, eco-tourism development, and contributed to development of more than 20 environmental laws and legislation. He had leading positions at UNDP/GEF Mongolia Biodiversity Project, UNDP/GEF Eastern Steppe Biodiversity Project, German Technical Cooperation Agency’s Nature Conservation and Buffer Zone Development projects.
Gala is a founding Board Member of Mongolian Society for Environmental Education. He holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from Yale University and a Master of Sciences degree from Central European University/Manchester University.
