Biography

Gabrielle Malcolm leads the Article 6 Implementation Accelerator, supporting the development of high‑integrity, nature‑based carbon projects that generate trusted, high‑quality emissions reductions to help meet Singapore’s Nationally Determined Contributions. She works closely with governments, technical partners, and field organisations to identify promising opportunities, strengthen readiness for Article 6 implementation, and ensure that carbon activities deliver meaningful climate, biodiversity, and community benefits.

With a background in environmental science and a lifelong love for conservation—the kind nurtured through muddy boots, tidepools, and well‑worn field guides—Gabrielle brings strong technical grounding and genuine enthusiasm to advancing robust nature‑based solutions (NbS).

She oversees the Accelerator’s portfolio with support from a growing technical team, guiding project identification and assessment while helping governments navigate the evolving Article 6 landscape. Gabrielle also manages work under the ASEAN‑UK Green Transition Fund Grant, leading technical assessments, field studies, data collection, partner coordination, and multi‑stakeholder collaboration across Southeast Asia.

Before stepping into this leadership role, Gabrielle served as Program Coordinator for the Southeast Asia Climate and Nature‑based Solutions (SCeNe) Coalition, where she led multiple feasibility studies, developed guidance for the design of high-quality NbS, and supported frontline organisations in early‑stage development of high‑integrity NbS projects. Her work has spanned policy analysis, project development, and facilitation—often at the intersection of science, community priorities, and climate strategy.

Earlier roles in conservation and environmental science further strengthened her commitment to climate solutions that benefit both people and nature. Through research and community‑based conservation initiatives, she built a solid foundation in ecosystem science and a deep respect for the communities that steward these landscapes.

Passionate about protecting ecosystems and shaping carbon markets that deliver real, equitable benefits, Gabrielle brings scientific rigor, creativity, and optimism to every project she leads. She is energised by collaboration, inspired by nature, and continually seeking new ways to make climate action more effective, grounded, and fair.
