Biography
Dr Erik van Eyndhoven is the Country Lead for Aotearoa New Zealand. He has been with The Nature Conservancy Aotearoa New Zealand since 2021and was previously the Director of Conservation. In that time, Erik has embraced The Nature Conservancy’s vision of addressing the climate and biodiversity crises to ensure a future where both people and nature thrive.
Erik has over 20 years’ experience delivering nationally significant conservation outcomes across the private, public and NGO sectors. He works at the intersection of science, policy, Te Ao Māori and conservation delivery, and is known for building alliances across government, iwi and the private sector. Erik has led major multi-partner programmes and is a recognised voice on market-based approaches to biodiversity and climate challenges.
