Biography
Cesare Di Girolamo Neto is a renewable energy scientist for the European Renewable Energy program. He is dedicated to ensuring that the shift toward sustainable energy happens promptly, efficiently and with consideration for both the environment and people. His approach involves mapping core values gathered from remote sensing data, assessing valuable environmental information using biodiversity data and developing energy models using data science and machine learning techniques.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from the State University of Campinas (2010), a master’s degree in agricultural engineering from the same university (2013), a Ph.D. in remote sensing from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) (2018) and a Postdoc on biodiversity and ecosystem services at VALE S.A. (2021). His expertise in previous projects include: remote sensing (specially vegetation and agricultural remote sensing), digital image processing, time series analysis, machine learning, and environmental and biodiversity applications (impacts of land use and land cover change in Brazilian biomes, modeling deforestation in Brazilian Amazon and agricultural biodiversity assessment in Portugal).
