Biography

As Regional Managing Director of The Nature Conservancy’s Africa program, Ademola Ajagbe oversees conservation in nine countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Gabon, and Seychelles. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for the development and execution of geographic priorities in support of TNC’s 2030 Goals.

Ademola has over 20 years of conservation experience working for government and non-government organizations across Africa, including over 10 years of management experience. In his most recent role as the Africa Regional Director for BirdLife International, he managed a diverse team and led on strategic fundraising and conservation priorities in 40 African countries.

Ademola holds a Bachelor of Technology in Fisheries and Wildlife from the Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigeria; a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute at the University of Jos in Jos, Nigeria; and a Leadership Certificate from the WWF College Leadership Development Programme in the Netherlands.
