The Future of Latin America is Regenerative
Implementation and Financing of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) by the Agri-Food Sector to Reduce Climate Risk and Environmental Impacts in Latin America
Climate change is disrupting Latin American agricultural systems as value chains have been upended, leading producers to unsustainable production. Through an enhanced enabling environment for ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), the project will transform three million hectares of agricultural land into regenerative landscapes that benefit climate, biodiversity, productivity, and producers. The project will increase knowledge of AbE agriculture and green recovery, including analyses of its barriers and successes, while strengthening regulatory frameworks that promote conservation and remove disincentives. The project will develop 13 business models with climate and agricultural data and implement at least 5 financial instruments/financial risk transfer solutions to enable the financing and investment of ecosystem-based adaptation.
