Visiting the Preserve
There is no public access to the preserve.
Location
Maryland's Eastern Shore, about 2 hours east of Washington, DC
Why the Conservancy Selected This Site
For its mature, mixed forest of conifers and hardwoods.
What the Conservancy Has Done/Is Doing Here
Since 1987, The Nature Conservancy has protected 43 acres.
Plants
- Loblolly pine, oak, and cherry trees, among others
- May-apples
- Pink lady's slipper
Animals
- Habitat for Delmarva fox squirrel (federally endangered)
