Overview
Older forests, such as Ranck Woods, are increasingly uncommon on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Visiting the Preserve
There is no public access to the preserve.

Location
Maryland's Eastern Shore, about 2 hours east of Washington, DC

Why the Conservancy Selected This Site
For its mature, mixed forest of conifers and hardwoods.

What the Conservancy Has Done/Is Doing Here
Since 1987, The Nature Conservancy has protected 43 acres.

Loblolly pine, oak, and cherry trees, among others

Animals

Habitat for Delmarva fox squirrel (federally endangered)
